Much like Catholics using Rosary beads for prayer, mantra meditation induces a meditative state through the repetition of sacred sounds spoken aloud, connecting you with your higher self and a higher power.

This practice goes beyond calming the mind; it’s about finding inner balance, syncing with nature’s energies, and discovering peace within. Together, we’ll embark on a collective exploration of the divine wisdom within each of us and the power of your soul purpose.

My personal journey to self-awareness began with meditation, quieting my mind, and finding the confidence to pursue what truly matters. What is Mantra Meditation?

Mantra meditation or Japa Yoga is a practice where you repeat a special word or phrase, known as a “mantra” or a divine name, in a focused and intentional way. This method is found in various religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Buddhism, and it’s also present in some other belief systems.

You can do mantra meditation in different ways—sitting quietly in a specific meditation pose, incorporating it into your daily activities, or as part of a group session. When you repeat the mantra, you can say it softly, loudly enough for yourself to hear, or even silently in your mind.

What Does Japa Mean?

The term “japa” comes from the Sanskrit language. It originates from the root word “jap-,” which means to speak in a low voice, repeat internally, or mutter. In a broader sense, “japa” is made up of “ja,” suggesting the destruction of things like birth, death, and reincarnation, and “pa,” meaning the destruction of one’s sins.

So, in simple terms, mantra meditation is about repeating a meaningful word or phrase with focus and intention with the idea that using this repetition will bring about positive transformations in your life.

I’ve been lost.

A big reason that I started my business is due to the confidence I’ve gained on my spiritual journey after a dark time in my life.

I had been living in London for over a year and had fallen out with an employer who reduced my hours, leaving me unable to work enough to survive, and as a result, I had to come home. After months of re-evaluation and leaning into the support of my family for the first time since my teens, I finally started to trust myself again. I found a wonderful spiritual teacher, Calodagh McCumiskey, who helped me develop discipline and hope for the future.

A crucial lesson from that challenging time was the realisation that none of us need to deserve good things to happen. It’s more simple than that – we reap what we sow.

Meditation taught me to sow seeds every day – seeds of kindness for others and seeds of learning in my business and life. I also started to acknowledge my own value and stopped being so hard on myself, while also acknowledging my mistakes and trying to change my behaviors and habits for the better.

I believe mantra meditation connects with our souls and the divine! We create a vibration with our voice that helps to change our own energy and the energy around us. We become more peaceful and productive.
